What is Petsecure pet insurance?
Petsecure pet insurance covers your dog’s or cat’s veterinary expenses (accidents, illnesses, hospitalizations, surgeries, medications, diagnostics, dental care, etc.). You benefit from up to 80% coverage of costs—including exams and taxes—for maximum peace of mind.
What’s the difference between dog insurance and cat insurance?
Petsecure plans are tailored by species—cats or dogs. The coverages (accidents, illnesses, dental care, therapies, etc.) and annual limits are the same, but the pricing grids reflect each species’ specific needs.
How do I choose the right pet insurance plan?
Compare our 4 plans (Secure 1 through Secure 4) based on your budget and how often you visit the vet:
- Secure 1 & 2: Basic protection for accidents and emergencies.
- Secure 3: Adds coverage for illnesses and chronic conditions.
- Secure 4: Includes Wellness coverage (vaccines, annual exams, flea/tick prevention).
What is the annual deductible?
The annual deductible is a fixed amount you choose (2 options available) and pay just once per policy year, regardless of how many claims you file. The higher your deductible, the lower your monthly premium.
Are there waiting periods for pet insurance?
- Accidents: 48 hours
- Illnesses: 14 days
- Dental care & cruciate ligament: 6 months
- Preventive care (Wellness): No waiting period
Are pre-existing conditions covered?
No. Any condition diagnosed before your policy’s effective date is considered pre-existing and is not reimbursed. We recommend enrolling as early as possible to avoid exclusions.
Will my premium increase as my pet ages?
Petsecure does not raise your premium based on your pet’s age or claims history. You can insure your pet from 8 weeks old with no upper age limit.
What expenses are covered?
Coverage includes, but is not limited to:
